About us

In a startup friendly environment we help to transfer reasearch results fromt the german 6G research hubs to startups developing innovations. The Institute for Wireless Communication and Navigation and the Entrepreneurial Office at the RPTU work closely together in order to fully and comprehensively illuminate both sides, research and business.

Our unique feature of the incubation programme is that the funded concepts are supported by a crowdsourcing approach. The future founders receive support from the two networks, including business and technological experts. Furthermore, the Institute for Wireless Communication and Navigation provides access to an extensive infrastructure in the area of measurement infrastructure and laboratory rooms. Test scenarios can be planned and carried out together with our team.

Technical Focus

Within the project, support is provided in particular for developments of an overall 6G architecture, but also end-to-end solutions in the following areas, among others:

advanced network topologies with highly agile so-called organic networking,
security and resilience,
Thz and photonic transmission methods,
sensor functionalities in the networks and their intelligent use,
further processing and application-specific radio protocols.

An important aspect of the project is its openness. An early, open and interactive dialogue is sought. The laboratory infrastructure should enable the startups to explore and test their ideas in the context of the research priorities.

Incubation process

Before the incubation phase, we need you and your team to register on our website. After registration, we will contact you to discuss your research approach. You will then develop a proposal and present it in a team with our PIs. If you receive a recommendation from them, you submit your application to the project management organization. After successful funding, the incubation phase begins.

During this phase, you will be in close contact with us. In various meetings, we will further develop your research project together with regard to technological and economic aspects. The aim is to take your research to the next level and turn it into a business model that will advance the future of communication.
