Mindshift – From the Lab to Business

Many scientists start out with a brilliant idea – but technical expertise alone is not enough to get a business off the ground. In this course, pitch coach and physicist Dr. Katharina Boguslawski talks about the importance of changing your perspective: from a research mindset to a persuasive business mindset.

The module is aimed at anyone who wants to translate scientific results into a convincing business model and a well-founded investor presentation. You will learn how investors make decisions – not only rationally, but also emotionally – and how to tailor your content specifically to their “decision-making brain.”

In compact lessons, you will learn:

  • Why traditional scientific presentations often fail to impress investors
  • How to derive your unique selling proposition (USP) from research data
  • Which terms, figures, and visuals really convince business angels
  • And how to use storytelling and emotions to create the famous “aha” effect

Finally, Katharina will show you step by step how to bring all of this together in a compelling one-pager for investors.

Goal: You will develop an entrepreneurial mindset and learn how to present your innovation in a way that investors recognize its potential—without losing sight of the scientific core.
